This special volume of the Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos explores new representations of women by Spanish and Latin American graphic artists since the 1950s. Applying recent critical approaches, including postfeminist aesthetic theories, to the study of Comics, we are calling for articles that discuss the representation of women in cartoons, comic strips and graphic novels and that place special emphasis on any of the following themes: the female body and its representations, power relations, family relations.
