About Me

I am an international Ph.D. Student, having arrived in Calgary from Colombia in September 2012.  For my Master's degree, obtained from the University of Calgary, I wrote a thesis on Francisca Josefa de Castillo y Guevara, a Colombian mystic writer from the seventeenth century. My dissertation analyzed the erotic components in Castillo's writings as well as the mystic language used in them. Now for my Ph.D. I am planning to continue my research on mysticism under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Schmidt.  I love cinema, dancing and nature. One of my favorite novels is Heinrich von Ofterdingen and my favorite movies include Happy Together, Solaris and The Mirror.
