About me:

I have obtained my BA in English from Chang’an University and an MA in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Shandong University. I am currently a PhD student in Applied Linguistics. As a Chinese native speaker, I have faced many difficulties in learning foreign languages, such as English and German. Considering these difficulties, I chose to conduct research on second language acquisition, specifically teaching Chinese as a second language, to help students learn Chinese more effectively.

I decided to pursue my doctoral degree at the University of Calgary because of the program design and the academic staff. I will improve my academic abilities with the instructors’ constant help and insightful suggestions.

I often read novels and watch movies at my leisure. They help me reduce the stress and recharge. I also like to travel and cook. I will travel at least one time a year to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the local food.
