About Me

Originally a graduate student from the (sacred) land of wine and mustard in France, I came here to work as a French Language Assistant through the long-standing exchange agreement that binds my home university, Université de Bourgogne, with the University of Calgary. And then, history may say that I never went back. History might not be wrong, indeed! Having graduated with a BA in English and completed my M1 with a thesis on 20th century Canadian poetry, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to finish my Master’s here at the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

My research interests now include Francophone and Anglophone postcolonial literatures, contemporary Queer Québécois literature and film studies. Following my work for the French division, I also developed a keen interest in L2 pedagogy, didactics and in finding new approaches that can revolutionize the way we teach languages. As I also speak English, German and some Japanese, the whole reflection about the acquisition of second languages has always been central to me.

If you don’t find me reading a book, scribbling a few lines or talking to myself, I may be wandering around at the nearest park, admiring the beauty of nature and trying to make sense of my latest findings.
