About me:

I come from Argentina and I graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, where I got my licentiate degree in Foreign Literature, a unique program that focuses on English, French and German literatures, among others. My research interests are fin-de-siècle and Modernist German Literature; interests that I have pursued academically in a research group in Argentina and that led me now to the LLAC MA program here at the University of Calgary. The interdisciplinary aspect of the program, the approach to German culture from an “outsider”, external perspective as well as the prestige of the institution appealed to me and motivated my decision.

I speak Spanish, English, German and have reading-skills in French. My favourite novel is J. W. Goethe’s Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre although Thomas Bernhard’s novels are quite high too in my regard. I can’t decide on a favourite movie, it’s a triple tie between Yasujirō Ozu’s Tokyo Monogatari (1953), R. W. Fassbinder’s The Marriage of Maria Braun (1978) or Satoshi Kon’s Millennium Actress (2001; which undoubtedly is my favourite animated movie). I enjoy drawing, writing and, of course, one can find me almost always with a book in hand.
