An introduction to the study of German culture by studying key works and documents from events in German cultural history including the Reformation Enlightenment, and twentieth-century history; major German thinkers; works of art, music, theatre, and film;p and important currents in social history.
This course may not be repeated for credit.

- This course is taught in English; no knowledge of German is required. Enrollment in any higher level German course requires a grade of at least "C-' in the prerequisite course(s), or consent of the Department.
