About Me

I am currently enrolled in the fourth year of the doctoral program Spanish Literature. Having finished my B.A. in Spanish at the University of Calgary, I have since remained at U of C, partly in thanks to the variety of specialists working within the department. At the moment, my main academic interests are in fragmentation and border issues in Cervantes’ Don Quijote de la Mancha, as well as in more contemporary Mexican works, like those of Carlos Fuentes. Luckily for me, Dr. Rachel Schmidt, resident Cervantista, has agreed to guide me on my Cervantes adventure. To relax, I enjoy reading anything by Gerald Durrell and contemporary Latin American women authors, and also watch movies that make me laugh, like Monty Python’s The Holy Grail.
