About me:

I am Mahyar Nakhaei. Currently, I am a first-year PhD candidate in linguistics at UoC. I got my BA in English Language Teaching from Islamic Azad University (2014) and MA in Applied Linguistics from University of Tehran (2017). Then, I started my MA degree at UoC under supervision of Dr. Storoshenko. I am interested in running experimental studies and to study how pronouns are interpreted across languages and what factors affect their resolution by native speakers of each language, in particular. I have done some research studies on how pronoun resolution might be different between pro-drop languages such as Persian and non-prodrop languages like English. In my Master’s thesis at UoC, I investigated how individual differences might affect the interpretation of pronouns within a language.  Currently, I am planning to examine the behaviour of a controversial clitic-like marker (-esh) in Persian from a new perspective. I love statistics and data. I am a candoholic. I love candy a lot. You should keep candy away from reach of me.
