French, Italian and Spanish Writing Centre

Submitted by darmstro on Mon, 11/21/2016 - 3:18pm

The Writing Centre is located in Craigie Hall E212 and provides personalized help, resources for students in French, Italian and Spanish and opportunities for students to publish their academic and creative writings.

In 2017, dedicated times will be given to each language and assistants will be available to help with written skills, such as working on a course assignment, writing a letter to an employer, a resume, and other forms of writing.

Presently, students are welcome to come in any time. The Writing Center is open, regardless of what language they are seeking help in. Resources are available for consultation, including dictionaries, manuals, DVDs and language software.

The Writing Center will also host a series of workshops focused on writing skills as well as presentations on cultural topics. A calendar of events will be posted soon.

Archives EBook Anthology

The first volume of the ebook anthology, Archives I is now available. The second volume, Archives II will be published in spring 2017.  In 2017 the School hopes to publish Archives - II, the second volume of the ebook-anthology featuring our students’ creative writing.

This multilingual anthology was born out of the need to offer a space for the expression of our students' creativity, and to serve as an archive of their efforts. We welcome contributions in all languages taught in the School: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.

Budding writers in our classes are cordially invited to send us their short stories, poetry and creative compositions. In some cases, students might want to submit their second language creative work with an English or French translation.
