Michael Dobrovolsky Undergraduate Linguistics Award.

The Michael Dobrovolsky Undergraduate Linguistics Award

This is a $400 award offered annually to continuing University of Calgary full-time students with a major in Linguistics. The award is based on academic merit and extra-curricular activities.

To qualify for this award a student must:
 

  • Be a linguistics major

  • Have successfully completed the previous Fall and Winter sessions with a minimum of three full courses (at least three half courses per session)

  • Be a continuing full-time student in the upcoming Fall and Winter sessions (at least three half courses per session)

  • Carry a minimum GPA of 3.0 over the previous Fall and Winter sessions

  • Be a current member of the Verbatim Undergraduate Linguistics Society

  • Be involved in extra-curricular activities, especially those related to linguistics, e.g. participation in Verbatim, volunteer work at Children's Hospital

 
Selection will be made in the Division of Linguistics, School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures, with the nomination being forwarded to the Academic Awards Committee. The winning candidate will be notified by letter in late November by Student Awards.
